Arrow Subsea needed a reliable and efficient way to store, access, and manage its customer data. With their business expanding, they approached us with the idea of transitioning away from Microsoft Excel and into a bespoke database system.
We took on the challenge and worked closely with Arrow Subsea to identify all of their needs for the new system. We identified that the system would need to be accessible remotely across a range of devices such as Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile; allow for multiple users to work on it concurrently; improve access to submitted documents; provide powerful search capabilities; and enable auditing of user activity. In addition, we also ensured that all customer data could be efficiently migrated from Microsoft Excel into the new system.
To meet all these needs, we developed a web application hosted in AWS Cloud using NodeJS, Express, Solr, MySQL, and other technologies. This powerful application provided Arrow Subsea with an easy-to-use platform that allowed them to quickly retrieve customer data with up-to-date information. It also enabled them to store links to web pages as well as technical papers against jobs which further optimised their efficiency when searching for relevant content.
