Background
Our client was building a rewards website for a client to enable users to collect cashback when making purchases with participating retailers. They approached us, seeking a partner to outsource some elements of their project.
Their brief was to build a "wrapper" website that integrated their loyalty program system in addition to creating bespoke functionality around account registration, account management and debit/credit card linking.
Project Goals
- The web application would run on cloud infrastructure (AWS) specifically Elastic Beanstalk.
- The website should be responsive (mobile-friendly) and built to modern standards.
- The website should include registration functionality and store all user details and passwords securely.
- Single sign on functionality to log into the website as well as sign in to WLL's integrated rewards software.
- Link debit/credit cards to a users account using card linking SDK/API.
- Transaction data connector which provides a RESTful interface to receive purchases reported by card linking HTTP webhook and integrating these events with WLL's loyalty API.
- The delivered system should have Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery implemented and enabled so that WLL can easily deploy new versions of the system to multiple environments.
- Any infrastructure required to deploy and run the delivered system should be configured as executable code using either CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform.
