Replacing spreadsheets with a CRM built around the business.

The business had outgrown spreadsheets as the centre of its customer information. DevStack created a secure, cloud-based CRM that made information easier to find, share and manage across the business.

// the outcome

  • Staff could find customer and job information more quickly.
  • Multiple team members could work with the same information at the same time.
  • Documents and activity records became part of one consistent process.
  • The business moved away from a fragile spreadsheet-based workflow.

The challenge

Spreadsheets had worked when the business and its data were smaller. As it grew, the same approach became difficult to manage. Information was harder to search, documents were disconnected from the relevant jobs and several people needed to work with the same records at once.

The business needed a central system that staff could access remotely, on different devices, with a reliable record of who had changed what.

What we did

DevStack designed and built a CRM around the business’s actual way of working. Rather than forcing it into a generic product, the system brought its customer records, job information and documents together in one place.

The platform supported simultaneous users, powerful search, remote access and detailed activity records. It also gave the business a secure foundation that could grow as its processes and information needs developed.
